  1. Ensure the Software Upgrade Assistant (SUA) software is installed. Refer to Initial Setup - Software Upgrade Assistant for assistance.
  2. Ensure the wireless device:
    • is powered on
    • connected to a compatible computer using the supplied USB cable.
      If prompted, disable device lock setting then reconnect the wireless device.
      If the device is not recognized immediately, pull down the notification panel on the phone to switch from 'Charge Only' to 'File Transfer' or 'Software Installation' mode.
  3. When prompted with 'Upgrade available', click Upgrade to begin the software upgrade process.
    The 'Upgrade available' pop-up window only appears when a software upgrade is available.
    The most recent software version becomes available on the SUA/SRA tool within a week of a new software update. During this time, the SUA/SRA is unavailable for usage.
    Images may vary depending upon device type.
  4. From the Software Upgrade Assistant page, click Upgrade.
    The software upgrade begins once the software upgrade package is downloaded and progress of download and upgrade show via a status bar.
  5. Click OK when prompted with 'Upgrade complete. Your phone restarts automatically.'
    If the update fails to install, refer to the Software Repair Assistant for further assistance.
  6. Click Close (located on the lower right) to exit the Software Upgrade Assistant.

  1. Ensure the Software Upgrade Assistant (SUA) software is installed and launched. Refer to Initial Setup - Software Upgrade Assistant for assistance.
    After launch, the tool syncs all the picture and music from the PC into the app.
  2. Ensure the wireless device:
    • is powered on
    • connected to a compatible computer using the supplied USB cable.
      If the device is not recognized immediately, pull down the notification panel on the phone to switch from 'Charge Only' to 'File Transfer' or 'Software Installation' mode and set USB Debugging mode to enable on the device.
  3. After the device is connected, click Transfer & Backup then click File transfer.
  4. If the device is password protected, a notice to unlock the device appears. Enter the password then click OK for the device to be recognized.
  5. Click Upgrade.
    If there is no upgrade available, then the Upgrade button on the Home summary page is disabled.
  6. Select your device from the list table then click the Upgrade button.
    The download process takes 30-35 minutes depending on the network speed of the computer.
    When the download has finished, the tool starts upgrading the device, which takes 10-15 minutes.
  7. When the upgrade process is complete, click OK then click the Close button to finish the process.
    The phone restarts automatically.
